VHF Band

Glossary

VHF, or Very High Frequency, equipment operates in the frequency range from 30 to 300 MHz within the radio spectrum; however, in the context of land mobile radio (LMR) usage, the VHF Band falls within 136 – 174 MHz. VHF radio has been in use since the 1930's, whereas newer two-way communications systems tend to use frequencies in the UHF frequency band ranges.
